Further Industrial Action

The next Aurizon industrial action will occur in Rockhampton, Bluff and Stanwell between 4 January & 7 January 2015.

This follows the notice of the industrial action originally planned for Jilalan, Pring, Coppabella and Callemondah being suspended from 31st December, 2014 and now commencing on 3rd
January 2015 (see RTBU circular dated 28 December 2014).

A full list of proposed action is contained below.

The legislation requires action to be taken within 30 days of the ballot or a full re-ballot has to occur. I understand the AFULE ballot is not completed until 13 January and both unions will be discussing the issue of a united front in early January. I would
ask members to recognise that those Drivers who are solely members of the AFULE are not entitled to participate in any industrial action until the AFULE ballot has been successfully completed.

We have, understandably, had complaints from members in some Depots who also wish to participate in this campaign. However, given the continued intransigence on the part of Aurizon, this could be a lengthy dispute and we ask membersí
patience in this respect. Aurizon could of course prevent any action occurring simply by withdrawing their application to terminate the Agreements and proceeded to meaningful negotiations.

Strike Action will occur in Jilalan Traincrew Depot from 12 noon on 3 January 2015 until 12 noon on 4 January 2015
There will be an implementation of overtime bans in Callemondah, Coppabella and Pring Depots from 1am on 3 January, 2015 until 1am on 7 January 2015
Strike Action will occur in Rockhampton Traincrew Depot from 12 noon on 6 January, 2015 until 12 noon on 7 January, 2015
There will be an implementation of overtime bans in Bluff/Stanwell Depots from 01.00am on 4 January, 2015 until 1am on 7 January, 2015.
