BMA Mutual Exchange of Shifts

I refer members to our newsletters dated 3rd and 11th September relating to BMA’s unilateral decision to remove the access to mutual exchange of shifts from BMA employees covered by the BMA Rail Agreement. I have had further discussions with the Company which again has not resolved the matter.

Again, I clearly indicated that this constitutes a major workplace change and we are of the opinion that consultation needs to occur.

This is now a bigger issue as it indicates what the company thinks constitutes a major workplace change and what needs to be consulted as per the agreement.

As advised, the next step in the dispute process is to seek conciliation in the Fair Work Commission and that process has commenced.

I will of course report on the progress of the application as part of our continuing endeavour to keep members informed of all developments.
