BMA Mutual Exchange of Shifts

I refer members to our newsletters relating to BMA’s unilateral decision to remove access to mutual exchange of shifts from BMA employees covered by the BMA Rail Agreement. I have had further discussions with the company and again the matter has not been resolved.

Once more I clearly indicated that we are of the opinion that consultation needs to occur as this constitutes a major workplace change.

This is now a bigger issue as it indicates what the company thinks constitutes a major workplace change and what needs to be consulted as per the Agreement.

As advised, the next step in the dispute process is to seek conciliation in the Fair Work Commission. The Matter has been listed for conciliation in the Fair Work Commission at 2.00pm on Friday, 2 October 2015.

I will of course report the progress of the conciliation as part of our continuing endeavour to keep members informed of all developments.
